Our story

Built by Frenchie owners, for Frenchie owners.

FrenchieCareClub started in 2024 with a frustration. Our editor Sarah had just brought home her third French Bulldog and realized that every time she Googled a real question — "is this normal panting or BOAS?", "which wrinkle wipes actually work?", "ramp or stairs for the couch?" — she'd land on the same three types of pages.

The first was generic AI-spun pet content that read like it was written by someone who'd never seen a dog. The second was Reddit threads with brilliant advice buried under arguments. The third was affiliate-stuffed listicles ranking products by what paid the highest commission, with no evidence anyone had ever actually used them.

None of it served the actual job: helping a real owner raise a real Frenchie well.

So we started something different. Long-form guides written by people who've actually raised the breed for years, fact-checked against veterinary literature, and reviewed by a practicing DVM before publishing. Product recommendations based on what we'd buy with our own money — and that we have actually tested on our own three Frenchies, sometimes for years. An honest affiliate model where you know exactly how we make money and we never put a payout above your dog.

That's the whole brief. There's nothing fancy about it. We just thought our breed deserved better content than the internet was giving it.

Product Testing Lead

Frenchie owner since 2018 (Banjo, RIP, and now Pepper). Runs the months-long product tests so we don't recommend things that fall apart after six weeks.

How we make money

FrenchieCareClub is funded by affiliate commissions from Amazon and other retailers. When you click a product link on this site and buy something, we earn a small percentage of the sale — at no extra cost to you.

This model only works long-term if we recommend things people actually love. We deliberately leave out plenty of products that pay high commissions because we've tested them and they're junk. We feature products with no affiliate program at all if they're the right answer. Trust is the asset; we're not going to torch it for a $4 commission.

We do not accept paid sponsorships disguised as editorial recommendations. Brands cannot pay to appear in our guides or top picks. If a manufacturer sends us a product to test, we say so explicitly and our review isn't conditional on the outcome.

A note on veterinary care

Everything on this site is informational. We work hard to make it accurate and we have a licensed DVM review the content. But your dog is an individual, the relationship with your own vet matters enormously, and there's no substitute for hands-on medical care when something is wrong. If you have an active medical concern, please call your vet — not an article on the internet.
